Amber Leigh Moore was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelors of Art in Spanish and a minor History. She subsequently attended Lamar University for post-baccalaureate certification in Spanish EC-12 and a pre-Masters in history. She plans to return to school to obtain her Masters and Ph.D. in history with the objective of becoming a scholar.
Her interests are in the African diaspora in Latin America, Louisiana Creole history and culture, Caribbean history, Haitian revolutionary studies and its impact on Louisiana.
