John LaFleur II – An artist and Louisiana Creole gourmet and cultural scholar, John also served as an international tourist guide to Italy, France and London for 25 years, and taught Speech, French, Latin, Fine Arts Survey and Studio Drawing for over 20 years.
An indefatigable writer, he is the author of 6 books, and numerous articles addressing the controversial Cajun cultural identity phenomenon, as well as Louisiana Creole cultural myth vis-à-vis historical-cultural reality.
He studied Biblical Hebrew, Classical Languages (Biblical Greek & Classical Latin), French Literature and Education at LSU-Baton Rouge obtaining a Bachelors of Arts degree in Religious Studies with a double major in French and a minor in Fine Arts.
