Fr. Jason Vidrine is the Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Krotz Springs, Louisiana. A native of Ville Platte, Louisiana.
He was ordained a deacon at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on October 6, 2005 and then a priest for the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana, on July 8, 2006. Fr. Vidrine entered the seminary in 1998 after graduating high school, completing a B.A. in Arts and Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, Louisiana in 2002.
Following college seminary, he was sent to Rome for theological formation at the Pontifical North American College and earned an S.T.B. and M.A. in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum).
Fr. Vidrine’s various priestly assignments have included: Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Church and Catholic Student Center on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2006-2008), Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Scott, Louisiana (2008-2009), Pastor of St. Peter Church in Gueydan, Louisiana and Principal of St. Peter School (2009-2014), and Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph Churches in Ville Platte, Louisiana (2014-2015).
He also serves as a professor for the Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Lafayette and Spiritual director of Our Lady of Grace Comitium of the Legion of Mary in the Diocese of Lafayette.
