Dr. Darryl Barthé is an author, activist and historian from New Orleans. He studied at the University of New Orleans under Arnold Hirsch, Molly Mitchell, and Michael Mizell-Nelson. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Sussex, studying under Prof. Richard Follett. He has taught history at the University of New Orleans, the University of Sussex, and the University of Amsterdam.
His areas of specialization include subaltern history, the history of race and colonial violence in the United States and the history of Creole people in New Orleans.
